2021 Sustainable Gift Guide

Tis' the season for giving and receiving! Unfortunately, it is during this joyous season that we see a peak in our yearly waste contribution, with all the extra shopping bags, wrapping paper, packaging, parties, and cooking.

In Canada we produce over 545 000 tonnes of garbage between mid November and New Year’s Day.

As always, we are committed to sharing our best tips to help reduce waste during this gift giving season and with that we bring you a list of our favourite sustainable gift ideas, perfect for giving or to inspire your own wishes this year.

Experiences

Concerts, Museums, Exhibits

Sometimes the best gifts don't come in a big beautifully wrapped box, but rather in the form of memories to be made.

If you know the person you are shopping for has a favourite artist coming to your city soon or has been wanting to go to see that one exhibit at an art museum, gift them the experience by buying the tickets to go. It is also a gift to yourself as you get to join in on all the fun as their plus one!

You can support local sustainability initiatives by visiting a butterfly conservatory or local botanical centre as a fun day trip.

We hope we were able to provide you with some inspiration to help make your holiday shopping a little easier and a lot more sustainable this season!

After all, the most important gift you can give is love and kindness to one another and our planet.

Happy Holidays!

from the Fauxmagerie Zengarry Team
